Over the past week, the South Florida PGA Junior Tour hosted a series of Toptracer Prep Tour, presented by Callaway tournaments and Links Tour events, showcasing impressive performances from the two tour’s young golfers.
Prep Tour at PGA National - Palmer Course
The week kicked off on Monday, July 8, at PGA National on the Palmer Course, where 78 golfers competed in a one-day, 18-hole event.
In the Boys 13-18 division, Martin Bustos of Chattanooga, Tennessee, claimed the top spot with a score of 4-over par, 76, highlighted by three birdies. Mateo Munzi (74) of Wellington finished at 2-over par in the Boys 11-12 division, marked by two birdies and a solid front nine.
In the Boys 9-10 division, Brian Kelley of Port St. Lucie posted a 3-over 75 to secure his victory.
Anisleidy Chavez of Florida City emerged as the frontrunner in the Girls 13-18 division, carding a 9-over 81 with a two-shot victory over Jenna Missett of Port St. Lucie.
Gemma Hughes of Stuart led the Girls 11-12 division with a score of 1-over par 73, including two birdies, while Anastasia Todoric of Pembroke Pines captured the Girls 9-10 title with a score of 7-over 79, highlighted by three birdies.
Prep Tour at The TwinEagles Club
On Saturday, July 13, The TwinEagles Club hosted another exciting Prep Tour event. Dominic Manfield (72) of Naples was victorious in the Boys 13-18 division, finishing the day with four birdies and a score of even par.
Alyna Yensabai of Lake Worth dominated the Girls 11-12 division with an 11-stroke win, finishing at 1-over 73. Victoria Frias (75) of Parkland ended the day with a 12-stroke lead in the Girls 9-10 division, finishing at 3-over par.
Links Tour at Hunter’s Run Country Club
The Links Tour took on Hunter’s Run Country Club on Sunday, July 14, competing in a nine-hole event. Preston Breen (46) of Lake Worth continued his winning streak in the Boys 9-11 division, finishing with a five-stroke lead and a total score of 10-over par.
Ryan Perez (44) of Tequesta finished 8-over par with a four-stroke lead in the Boys 9-11 division.
Eva Cortes of Dorado, Puerto Rico, had a seven-stroke lead in the Girls 9-11 division, finishing at 4-over 40.
Morgan Miller (45) of Jupiter had a six-stroke lead over her sister, Mackenzie Miller, who finished 15-over 51 in the Girls' 6-8 division.
