The three-day, 54-hole event featured the largest field seen in the tournament's history. With 95 players braving the course, the long weekend was filled with heavy competition, great golf, and several Cypress Lake specialty milkshakes.
Valentina Marie Guertin of Boynton Beach held a strong lead throughout the three-day event. After ending Saturday’s round at one-under on her back nine, Guertin went into round two with a two-stroke lead in the Girl’s 13-18 division. Not long after, Addison Klonowski of Naples caught up to Guertin, both shooting even par on Sunday. Starting the final round two-strokes back of Guertin, Klonowski fired three straight birdies making her the only girl to finish under par in the final round. Klonowski cruised her way to a four shot victory (75-72-71–218) and claimed the Girl’s 13-18 champion title.
Last year’s Patty Berg Champion, TJ Thompson had his eyes set on reclaiming his title and going two-for-two in the SFPGA Patty Berg Championship. The Coral Springs native had a one-shot lead going into his second round. However, Thompson was met by Jayden Freedman of Boca Raton. Freedman carded five birdies in his second round, landing him at even par and tied with Thompson for the lead at four-over.
Thompson notched an eagle on Cypress Lake’s hole-five, par 5 to start the final round, taking a three-shot lead over Oscar Crowe of Boca Raton.
However, after starting the round six-over, Yuma Nemoto of Bradenton went on a birdie streak in his last three holes, carding a tournament low-71 in the Boy’s 13-18 division. Yuma Nemoto climbed the leaderboard and claimed first place honors with a three-day total, 72-72-71–221.
Zachary Felton (84-233) of Estero, William Richards (81-231) of Miami and Sebastian Eterovic (75-228) of Coral Gables went neck-and- neck throughout the event. Felton held the lead throughout the first two rounds but was met by Eterovic’s unstoppable play in his final round. Capping his weekend with a bogey-free back nine, Sebastian Eterovic claimed first place honors with a total 76-77-75–228, three strokes ahead of Richards in second.
