On the Medalist Tour, Jonathan Elter of Naples began Sunday’s round with a strong lead in the Boy’s 13-18 division, sitting four strokes ahead of Darren Zhou of Bradenton. However, after Elter turned in a six-over 78 in the second round, he found himself in a playoff with Zhou.
Facing a sudden death playoff on the 433-yard, hole 10, Zhou won the playoff after one hole and claimed the Boy’s 13-18 title.
Grace Carter of Jupiter began Sunday’s round two-strokes back of Chonpatchsorn Mahathep of Boca Raton. After a bogey-free front nine, Carter cruised to a first place victory. Carter’s even par total was a tournament-low amongst all age divisions over the two days and helped her claim first place honors in the Girl’s 13-18 division.
Special recognition to Zachary Felton for his win over the Boy’s 11-12 division.
Moving forward to Sunday’s Prep Tour event, in the Boy’s 9-10 division, Jackson Logan of Fort Lauderdale went on a birdie streak, scoring three birdies on holes seven, eight and nine. Logan shot a tournament low, 73 to claim his first place title.
Drew Davis of Coral Gables shot a five-over 77 to win the Boy’s 11-12 Division by one.
In the Boy’s 13-18 division, Lorenzo Cantarel carded four total birdies to finish at three-over (75), enough to earn the victory.
In the Girl’s Divisions, Sara Valentine of West Palm Beach won her third consecutive Girl’s 11-12 Prep Tour title by three strokes over Tatyana Villegas of Miami.
After tying in regulation, Manueal Suarez and Laura Monsalve went head-to-head for first place honors. Saurez of Doral came out with a one stroke lead on her back nine to claim victory in the scorecard playoff.
