In the Boys 13-18 Division, senior Aiden Arce of Davie demonstrated exceptional prowess on the par 71 course, clinching victory with a stellar performance over two days. Arce exhibited remarkable consistency, posting an impressive two-day total of two-under. His journey to victory began with a solid opening round of 71, followed by an astounding second round of 69. Despite starting the final round two shots behind the leader, Braydon Jenard, Arce maintained his composure and delivered a clutch performance to secure the top spot.
However, the competition was fierce, with Braydon Jenard setting the pace with an impressive first-round score (69). Although Jenard finished the event at two-over par after rounds of 69 and 74, he was in a tense battle for second place. Joining him in the hunt was St. Petersburg native Clark Mason, whose consistent play throughout the tournament earned him a spot alongside Jenard at two-over for the event. In an exciting conclusion, the tiebreaker was ultimately decided by a scorecard playoff, resulting in Clark Mason finishing in second place.
In the Girls 13-18 division, Leah Gram of Jupiter showcased resilience and determination en route to claiming the top honors. Gram faced adversity in the opening round, carding a seven-over 78. However, she quickly rebounded and found her rhythm in the second round, posting an impressive score of one-over 72. Gram's stellar performance culminated in a two-day total of eight-over, securing her the first-place title.
Chasing closely behind was Micaela Ruidias, who delivered a commendable performance to finish in second place at 12-over for the event. Despite the challenges posed by the course, Gram's unwavering resolve and skill propelled her to victory.
Additionally, the event acted as the second qualifier for the South Florida Junior PGA Championship, which is the second of eight SFPGA Majors scheduled to occur throughout the year. The prestigious championship will be held on June 17-18 at Stonebridge Country Club and serves as a qualifier for the national PGA Championship.
Congratulations to all of our Champions and players who qualified. Special thank you to Sean Burke-McDermott and his staff at Admirals Cove for hosting a fantastic weekend.
