Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. - Today, the South Florida PGA Junior Prep Tour presented by The Honda Classic held the third Prep Tour Event of the 2018 season at Eastpointe Country Club. This event featured a full field of 72 players aging from 9-18 years old. With warm weather and high winds the juniors faced a tough test of golf on the demanding course.
Tristan Wieland of Jupiter captured the boy's 9-10 age division after shooting a round of 77. Coming in second place with a score of 81 was Reid Korody of Jupiter. Brayden Jenard of Wellington took home the boy's 11-12 age division after a round of 75. Parkland native Rafael Frias finished runner-up in the boy's 11-12 age division after a round of 81. Noah Kent of Naples took home first place with a score of 80 in the boys 13-18 age division. Hollywood's Alejandro Arteta finished runner-up in a scorecard playoff with a score of 82.
Kayla Bryant of Boca Raton took home her third straight victory in the girl's 11-12 age division after a round of 75 today. Boynton Beach native Valentina Marie Guertin finished runner-up in the girl's 11-12 age division after a round of 87. Kira Shellman of Vero Beach took home the girl's 13-18 age division with a round of 83. Miami native Alejandra Sanchez finished runner-up in the girl's 13-18 age division after a round of 86 today.
The South Florida PGA Junior Prep Tour presented by The Honda Classic is a membership-based tour open to boys and girls ages 9-18 in South Florida with the aspirations and skill levels to compete at the High School level and features some of South Florida's most talented junior golfers. The Junior Prep Tour offers twelve one day championship events for junior golfers in South Florida.
