ATLANTIS, Fla. - The South Florida PGA Junior Tour named the Player of The Year winners for each its six division this weekend. The South Florida PGA annually awards Player of the Year honors in the Prep Tour Girls and Boys 9-10 age division, 11-12 age division and 13-18 age division.
Coral Gables native Fernanda Carrion is the 2019 Prep Tour Girls 9-10 Player of the Year winner. Carrion captured three wins in her division this year as well as four runner-up finishes.
Abigail Halpern of Palm City has been named the 2019 Prep Tour Girls 11-12 Player of the Year winner. Halpern, a South Florida PGA Junior Tour member for two years, has captured back-to-back Player of the Year Prep Tour titles. The 11-year-old took home the 2018 Prep Tour Girls 9-10 Player of the Year title and won two events on this year's Prep Tour.
Greenacres native Jayda Dookie is the 2019 Prep Tour Girls 13-18 Player of the Year winner. Dookie began her journey with the South Florida PGA in 2016 in the Team Golf program. The 15-year-old made her move to the Prep Tour this year and excelled, winning five events.
Sohan Patel of Weston has been named the 2019 Prep Tour Boys 9-10 Player of the Year winner. Patel began his journey with the South Florida PGA last year in the Team Golf program. He participated in two Prep Tour events at the end of 2018 before capturing the victory in five events this year as a full-time member of the Prep Tour.
Boca Raton native Oscar Crowe has been named the 2019 Prep Tour Boys 11-12 Player of the Year winner. Crowe has been a member of the Prep Tour since 2017 and has shown tremendous improvement in that time. Crowe captured three wins this year, including a 3 under-par 69 at Cypress Woods in October.
Alex Greenlund of Wellington has been named the 2019 Prep Tour Boys 13-18 Player of the Year winner. Greenlund began his journey on the Prep Tour in 2016 and finished runner-up in three events and placed inside the top eight in all his events this year.
