Over the weekend, the Callaway Medalist Tour took place on PGA National's Fazio Course. This was a two-day, 36-hole event and the first of four qualifiers for the South Florida Junior PGA Championship. The windy conditions over the weekend made the Fazio course at PGA National play difficult. However, Pavel Tsar of Palm Beach Gardens and Brayden Jenard of Jupiter were able to card under-par rounds. Jenard opened the tournament on Saturday with five birdies during his front nine, and finished the round as the solo leader, setting pace with a 4-under, 68. Tsar came fighting back on Sunday after a two-under 70 to open his weekend. His final-round 68 helped him to finish three shots of Jenard (73) to win the Boy’s 13-18 Division. In the Girls 13-18 division, Polina Anisimova from Port St. Lucie began the second round five shots behind Jayden Loyacona after Loyacona opened with a first round 74. However, Anisimova (152) managed to find her stride and went one under during the back nine on Sunday, to win the Girl’s 13-18 Division by three strokes. Congratulations to all the champions!
