This past weekend 69 juniors took to the course for the Junior Tour event at Santa Lucia River Club. Players endured tough wind conditions both days on top of a challenging course layout.
Natthawat Sakchawanpob of Boca Raton carded rounds of 72 and 75 to win the overall boys 13-18 division title by one stroke over fellow competitors Chris Calvani and Tomy Jaunet. Sakchawanpob posted three birdies during his two rounds. In the overall girls 13-18 division, Zoey Iglesias of Port St. Lucie took home the win with an eight-over-par. This is a first-time win on the SFPGA Junior Tour for Iglesias. Iglesias was the only competitor to break even during the tournament carding a 71, one-under-par round on the second day.
Tomy Jaunet of Port St. Lucie won the boys 16-18 division title in a scorecard playoff against Calvani. Jaunet carded three birdies in his first round. Mayumi Umezu of Port St. Lucie concluded the tournament with rounds of 80-79 to win the girls 16-18 division title.
Matthew Golovanov of Boca Raton took home the boys 13-15 division title after a scorecard playoff with Sam Brown. Golovanov and Brown tied with a total of five-over-par but it came down to the final six holes for these two. In the girls 13-15 division, Ariana Silva of Fort Lauderdale carded rounds of 77-79, four strokes ahead of Sabrina Kim.
