CLANTON, GILES AND KOVELESKY WIN CHALLENGE EVENT #3

ATLANTIS, Fla. – This weekend, the South Florida PGA Junior Challenge Tour presented by The Honda Classic held Challenge Event #3 at Weston Hills Country Club in Weston, FL.  The 36 hole event had to be shortened to 18 holes due to the heavy storms that took over South Florida late Saturday and Sunday.

Miami Lakes native Luke Clanton already captured Challenge Event #1 and #2 this year and was looking to continue his hot streak on the Players Course at Weston Hills Country Club.  Clanton carded 4 birdies and just two bogies to fire a 2-under-par 70.  Palm City native Garret Giles has been climbing the ranks on the Challenge Tour over the past few months.  After two top ten finishes already this season, Giles put together another great round on Saturday after firing a 2-under-par 70 to match Clanton.  Due to the event being washed out on Sunday, Clanton and Giles have been crowned Co-champions in the overall boys division.   Frankie Harris of Boca Raton would go on to capture the boys 13-15 age division, while Loxahatchee native Zachary Mize would take home the boys 16-18 age division.

Chloe Kovelesky of Boca Raton is coming off a win at Challenge Event #2 looking to keep her momentum going at Weston Hills.  Kovelesky managed to put together the low round of the day with a 1-over-par 73 that featured 4 birdies.  Kovelesky managed to grind out a one stroke victory over Jupiter native Lily Rinker and Estero native Kelli Kragh.  Miami native Rachel DeAngulo would go on to take home the girls 13-15 age division while Kragh would take home the girls 16-18 age division.

Boynton Beach native Max Jelinek and Coral Gables native Alex Dalmau would each share top honors in the boys 11-12 age division after firing 1-over-par 74s.  Jupiter native Stephanie Barbaglia would take home top honors in the girls 11-12 age division after firing a 2-over-par 74.
